Meet Elizabeth Lu

Elizabeth is currently the Flutist and Piccoloist of the Miami City Ballet and has been teaching at Frost for three years. She was invited to judge the National Flute Association High School Soloist Competition, part of the New World Symphony audition tour panel, and has also been a guest on PBS Kids as part of their musical education program. Her other teaching experience includes teaching at the Colburn School’s Jumpstart Program, serving as a Woodwind Teaching Artist with the All-Star Youth Orchestra, and working with underprivileged students in Miami-Dade County through New World Symphony’s MusicLab programs.

 

As a performer, Elizabeth has won several prestigious national flute competitions and has performed a broad range of repertoire at various venues, including performing symphonies at Lincoln Center, EDM at ULTRA, and solo for cancer patients at the Baptist Miami Cancer Institute. Her education is from the Colburn School, Carnegie Mellon University, Cincinnati College Conservatory of Music and Juilliard School.
