The purpose of this course is to provide students with opportunities to play in an ensemble setting with their peers across a variety of styles of music within the rock idiom. Focus will be placed on creating a “group sound,” time feel, facility on each individual’s instrument, recording, forms, rehearsal techniques, and repertoire.
The Rock Band class gives students the unique ability to learn music fundamentals through different eras of Contemporary/Rock music. By learning various songs throughout rock history, students will strengthen their sense of audiation, form, harmony, and melody - all with the guidance of Miami’s top professional musicians.

Show Choir is a performance-based musical ensemble that combines choral singing with a choreographed dance. Students will perform various styles of music including broadway/show tunes, jazz, and contemporary music.

Group Choir
Zumba Kids is a high-energy dance fitness program for children that combines music, movement, and community. The classes are designed to be fun and incorporate age-appropriate routines, games, activities, and cultural exploration elements to music like hip-hop, reggaeton, cumbia & more.

Young artists will have the opportunity to compose, record, and develop their ideas both lyrically and musically in a collaborative setting, with an emphasis on peer engagement, performance, and production. While learning how to further develop and organize ideas into polished commercial works, additional guidance and basic skills training on guitar, voice, piano, and bass will be offered to promote and refine artistry. A music production component will be offered to provide aspiring professionals with the necessary techniques to create modern, contemporary compositions. Topics to be covered: working with loops, software instruments, gaining general knowledge in MIDI and audio editing, mixing, effects, and signal routing.

Music Production at Frost Prep offers a hands-on experience where participants will dive into the world of creating and recording music. Throughout the program, students will learn the fundamentals of music production, including songwriting, arranging, and using digital audio workstations (DAWs). They'll explore recording techniques, sound design, and mixing, all guided by experienced instructors. By the end of the season, each participant will have the opportunity to produce their own track, gaining valuable skills in creativity, collaboration, and technical know-how, all while having fun in a supportive and inspiring environment.
